Tzukuri‘s shades are promised to be unloseable. There is a super small (read: invisible) solar-powered beacon inside every pair, which alerts your phone if you leave your sunglasses behind. Using new Bluetooth Low Energy technology, the app shows you on a map where you left your sunglasses.

It’ll even ring super loud if you leave your phone behind. Hi, new best friend.

Is this really that useful though? Tzukuri’s website states that 50% of people lose their sunglasses within a year of buying them, so I’d say so. This not only reduces plastic waste, but the solar-powered shades harness renewable energy. Are you starting to see why I’m so in love?

Obviously design is crucial in a sunglasses purchasing decision. The company looked at facial geometry and found 6 frame designs that will suit the most face shapes. Each shape comes in 3 sizes and either black or tortoise. The frame names are all inspired by famous gamechangers such as Atticus Finch, Tom Ford and Grace Kelly. Personally, I’m all about the James Dean frames (below).

The sunglasses are handmade in Japan by expert artisans. Each pair takes 3 weeks to make and comes with polarized lenses. Sign me up!
